I just heard a broadcaster for the local news, reporting on the murder of six people at a California ranch, say, “We’re in a beautiful area here in Riverside County, where things like this shouldn’t happen in real life…but they do.” Dude, you work for the news. It’s always real life. He then went on to describe one of the victims as a former firefighter “before she became just a homemaker.”
