hippity hippity f-cking hooray
I have finally finished the dissertation chapter I've been working on since I arrived here in Los Angeles. I am devising an appropriate reward for myself, if you have any suggestions. The weekend in itself was full of hijinks that you can see for yourself below.

Ms. Plisken:
This really is a good thing. Positive reinforcement for accomplishments can't be bad. Don't you have a SPA (pun instended) certificate? Manicure, Pedicure, hot stones, etc.
One chapter at a time.
I already had a mint chocolate chip hot fudge sundae last night, so I think that's about it in the ice cream reward category.
Found you at lablogs. As a former resident of Flushing and Manhattan (which I found less multi-cultural than LA in most neighborhoods), I understand how it takes a while to get into the LA groove. What an interesting dissertation. How did you come across such a topic?
Thanks for the good word, Neil. It's even harder to get in the LA groove when you're chained to your laptop. As far as the topic goes, it seemed like a lot of LA novelists were writing about religion, but not a lot of LA critics, so there was a hole and I jumped in it.
Good enough. And that sundae sure sounded good.
