When I left L.A. in 1998 (before returning earlier this year), I moved out of an adorable bungalow in Silverlake for which I was paying a whopping $600. According to RentSlicer.com, which provides detailed rental property statistics for the L.A. area, the average cost for a similar apartment has almost tripled since then. Super.
