rocky mountain high

I'm off to the land of these folks for what I've been promised is "the social occasion of the summer." If there's something I shouldn't leave Denver without doing, please speak up...

Nice picture. I suppose that's why there are haunted mansion movies, rather than haunted grocery store or haunted bungalo movies. Mansions look cool. Esp. in siepia-toned photos.

Hey, what about a haunted self-storage locker building? It could be one of those tons-o-cameo movies with multiple small stories tied up by nothing, like:
- Coffee and Cigarettes, dir. Jim Jarmusch, 2003 (good)
- Ship of Fools, dir. Stanley Kramer, 1965 (bad)

Have the security guard of the storage facility be the guardian of ghosts, memories, and abandoned somethings. Echoing sounds, flikering flourescent lights, with the sterility of the galvanized steel walls and primary colored paints a welcome -- and still creepy -- change from the decaying mansion/mental assylum thing.

This is starting to sound like a capsulated review of the new M. Night Shyamalan movie starring Paul Giamatti.

Meanwhile, I'm holding peace re Colorado.
